What will I be learning in this college/career pathway?
- You will be practicing taking vital signs, patient care, and using medical terminology as you prepare for our clinical practicum placement.
- A major focus of the course is preparing you for the Indiana State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification which requires completion of a written examination and practical skills test given at the end of the school year.
- Upon meeting the eligibility requirements, you will be required to complete, at a minimum, a 75-hour, non-paid, clinical internship in a long-term care facility.
- You will also be studying health careers, first aid, CPR, basic anatomy and physiology, health care practices, and medical terminology/abbreviations.
