Welcome To Muncie Area Career Center!

The Muncie Area Career Center (MACC) is an area career and technical education school dedicated to the development of academic and career skills to prepare students for college and a career.  As an area career and technical education school, the Muncie Area Career Center serves high school juniors and seniors from Blackford, Delaware, and Randolph counties.  The high schools participating include:  Blackford, Cowan, Daleville, Delta, Monroe Central, Muncie Central, Union City, Wapahani, Wes-Del, Winchester, and Yorktown.

There are thirteen career and technical education programs available at the MACC:  Automation and Robotics, Auto Technology, Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Dental Careers, Early Childhood Education, Electrical Technology, Health Sciences I & II, Information Technology Academy, PLTW Biomedical, Public Safety – Fire, Public Safety – Law, and Welding Technology.  Students who are in the morning session attend class from 7:55 AM until 10:30 AM, and students who are in the afternoon session attend from 12:25 PM until 3:00 PM.

Students who attend the MACC are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that assist the student in learning about career and post-secondary opportunities. All students are required to participate in at least one job shadowing experience each year.  In addition, students in specific program areas also participate in clinical or internship experiences that allows students to work and train in a local business, company, or agency for three, six, nine, or eighteen weeks.  The job shadowing and internship experiences are a great opportunity for students to learn what specific career fields are really like so that they can make decisions about selecting a college based on a career choice.

If you want a unique high school experience that will help you make a career choice and prepare you for post-secondary education, enroll in one of the MACC programs.

Thank you,
Chris Smith
